7. Michael Schofield

A month ago most locked in Michael Schofield to start for the team at right guard. Now, there is a real debate about whether or not he will make the Chicago Bears roster. If he is not going to beat out Teven Jenkins, there is a real question about whether the team will keep Schofield or Ja’Tyre Carter as their backup at right guard. They are not going to keep three right guards, so it is one or the other.

Carter is a rookie draft pick and while he could revert back to the practice squad, you would think that if things were close, the team would be ready to defer to the youth.

With that in mind, this game and performance is going to be huge for Schofield. If Carter shows enough to make the team, it may not matter what Schofield does.

Beyond that, nothing Schofield has shown to date indicates that he belongs on an NFL roster. If he has another performance like his last two, it may be an easy decision to cut him.

Sometimes it just does not work out for older veterans. We will find out very soon whether Schofield has enough juice to make the roster or not.
