5 WR situations Chicago Bears have to monitor
4. New York Jets
The New York Jets do not have as many options that may be cut as the Buccaneers. However, they have one name that has been linked to the Chicago Bears a lot recently. The team drafted Garrett Wilson this offseason to add to Elijah Moore, Braxton Berrios, and Corey Davis.
This leaves them with a spot or two, and Jeff Smith and Denzel Mims are most likely to fill the spots. Of course, one name that may end up out of the loop is Denzel Mims. Mims could stick around as the fifth or sixth wide receiver, but he already requested a trade because he wants a chance at more playing time.
The Chicago Bears may not be interested in a trade, but if his disgruntled nature ends up seeing him released, you could see Chicago give him a call. This is another player that would be ahead of Dante Pettis, and even would relieve injury concerns from Byron Pringle and Velus Jones.
The cost will determine the interest, but what the Jets do with Denzel Mims over the next 48 hours has to be watched.
