1. Nicholas Morrow calling plays

We expected this to happen as preseason reports came out, but now we know that it is real. It has nothing to do with Roquan Smtih missing time this offseason, but the Chicago Bears have taken away his play-calling duties. He had them last season, and every season after Danny Trevathan left.

This is not a demotion for Matt Eberflus and Alan Williams. They did the same thing with Shaq Leonard. They noticed that Leonard would play faster, and would be able to freelance more often if he did not have the green dot.

They needed a reliable second linebacker to point him in the right direction and keep the defense in line, but with a trusty number two, it allows the number one to be a star.

It worked for the Colts, and now the team has Nicholas Morrow calling plays so that Roquan Smith can be more aggressive. Smith did not have a turnover, but had a ton of tackles, and had a pass deflection. It is a start and you can tell where it is going.

Beyond that, Morrow hardly left the field and considering his role that will continue moving forward.
