Thought No.5: The early preview of the Chicago Bears next game vs. the Jets

This game was supposed to feature Justin Fields vs Zach Wilson — the battle of 2021 quarterbacks. Instead, we are going to be treated to Trevor Siemian against either Joe Flacco or Mike White on Thanksgiving weekend.

The Jets suffered a horrible loss in New England on Sunday that was decided when New England scored on a punt return with only seconds left in the game. Wilson caused so much consternation after he was asked if his performance was letting the team, especially the defense, down. His answer? “No”

That comment will be well received by his teammates, who have to put up with the lack of production. Imagine if Justin Fields said something similar. You can bet the New York media will be eating him alive throughout the week.

But the Jets still have the edge because they have better skill position players on offense and their defense is loaded — especially pass rusher. Even if Fields miraculously plays, the talent difference will be tough to overcome for the Bears.

Early scoring prediction: Jets 31-17
