The Chicago Bears hit an offensive boom around week seven. It was obvious that Luke Getsy started to put some things together, and an extended break from a Thursday night game to a Monday night game gave Getsy some time to self-scout, reevaluate things, and come up with a game plan for his talent.

The break obviously worked as he unlocked Justin Fields for the best play of his career. Still, like all things in the NFL, eventually, you see the defense catch up. Fields started to see the hits pile up, in the last two weeks it started to look like Getsy hit a bit of a wall as a play caller.

Chicago Bears offense could find new life

With that in mind, the bye week may have come at the perfect time. Getsy started to see his new Installation get stale, and he probably needed this week to readjust things. We have to remember that while rookie players are wearing down at this point, Getsy is a rookie NFL play caller as well.

So, Getsy is learning on the fly. He struggled out of the gate but readjusted. Defenses caught up, and now it is time for him to readjust again. It is possible that he is once again able to see how defenses adjusted to him, and now he continues the chess game with his next move.

Beyond that, the Chicago Bears may end up in some real shoot-outs, When they play the Philadelphia Eagles, and Buffalo Bills, they are facing good defenses. However, those offenses may put up serious points, and both games could turn into shootouts.

When thinking of Minnesota and Detroit, Justin Fields and Luke Getsy already had strong performances against both. Neither is known for their strong defense, but both have big-time offenses.

The Chicago Bears’ defense is going to be in trouble, and it may just be that the offense is scoring because of blowout situations. At the same time, we could see that Getsy has another punch to throw, and the team gets into back-and-forth duels that are exciting through the rest of the season. Fantasy owners may want to keep an eye on the Chicago Bears’ usage of skill player, because more points may be coming.
