Now that the Chicago Bears season is over, we can review how the coaching staff looked in their first season. It is tough to say for sure from our point of view because we do not know what these coaches do day-in and day out. However, when compared to the talent in the room and the expectations that came, how would these coaches grade out after their first season?

Luke Getsy, Chicago Bears offensive coordinator

Luke Getsy had a bit of a roller coaster of a season. He started off struggling to find the right scheme for Justin Fields. It looked like he was hoping to put players into his scheme rather than a scheme for his players, but that changed around week eight. From week eight to about week 14, the offense was humming like never before.

Getsy was calling plays for Justin Fields, and it was working. However, the limited playbook that was put together during the season only had so many curveballs to it, and by the Falcons game, you could see it get stale.

The Chicago Bears hoped to get things going again after the bye week, but this is where injuries at receivers, and along the offensive line started to pile up on the team.

Getsy essentially failed his first few games, was an A in the middle of the season, and as the roster limped to the end of the season, he probably maintained a C, which is right between his start and finishes. That seems to be a fair grade for an offense that had so many peaks and valleys, without sustained consistency.
