If I were Ryan Poles, I am not going to just consider draft capital when talking to other teams about potential trades. Players from other teams should also be on the table. There is one team in particular that jumps out at me when I look at potential trade partners for the Bears in April. That team is the Indianapolis Colts.

There is plenty to like about the idea of Chicago trading down with the Colts. First of all, the Colts need a quarterback. This is the main reason why they would be looking to move up from fourth to first. Moving up guarantees they can select the quarterback of their choice. What makes the trade even more important is that their divisional rival, the Houston Texans, also need a quarterback. The Texans are picking second and if Indianapolis wants to force the Texans to take their QB leftovers, they need to make a move with the Chicago Bears.

I recently threw out some fun and crazy draft trade scenarios. I specifically left the Colts off that list though because there are three players on the Colts I would love to be included in a trade with the Bears. These players are not all equal though and it could affect the draft capital included.

The Chicago Bears should consider one of these three trades if available

In his end-of-the-season press conference, Colts general manager, Chris Ballard was asked if there was a quarterback at the top of the draft they want, would he give up heaven and earth to trade up and get him? Ballard’s response was simple:

"“Yes. I’d do whatever it takes.”"

Well, let’s see just how much Ballard would be willing to give up that won’t upset Colts fans too much.
