So what should the Chicago Bears do with the first overall pick?

When looking at all six of these recent, high-profile draft trades, it is clear that the Bears will need to leverage their position extremely well across the league. With multiple teams needing QBs in a class that only has a maximum of three players worthy of a top pick, it is essential for Chicago to negotiate with multiple teams and find the best offer(s), which may include trading back more than once.

Either way, the excitement around the Bears’ draft capital is not unwarranted, and if done wisely, the Bears could end up receiving multiple, high-end players via the number one pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

With so many holes to fill, it makes sense for them to trade down, but it also requires the proper trade partner. A team cannot force a trade down, unfortunately. Ryan Poles and Ian Cunningham have their work cut out for them as the offseason is fully under weigh for Chicago. We already know the two, plus their scouting department, have been working the college scene all season, now it’s time to start getting into the game film and compiling a big board — one that will change from now all the way up to the 2023 NFL Draft in April. Buckle up Bears fans, this should be fun!
