The 2025 NFL Draft is just about one week away, and the Chicago Bears can go in any number of directions with the No. 10 selection in the first round.
While the focus, rightfully so, has been on the prospects the Bears could be add during the draft, one forgotten aspect of draft night is the players from the roster who might be traded. For the Bears, especially if they add a running back or offensive tackle in the first round, the team may be willing to move a veteran on their roster in order to recoup more draft capital.
3 Chicago Bears players who might be traded during the 2025 NFL Draft
1. D'Andre Swift, RB
I'm going to start this off by saying that D'Andre Swift's fate with the Bears is not tied to what his fate was with the Detroit Lions. Just because Swift was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles while Johnson was Lions' offensive coordinator does not mean that he is going to be traded by the Bears.
Having said that, if Ashton Jeanty is the selection for the Bears, or even Omarion Hampton, that would be a lot of money invested in the running back room for the team. Jeanty or Hampton would arrive at Halas Hall with the expectation of being the primary running back, leaving the Bears in a position to move Swift if a trade surfaces during the draft.
2. Braxton Jones, LT
This is cheating a little bit because Braxton Jones is not going to be traded during the draft. Teams will want to know he is healthy and has recovered from the ankle injury that prematurely ended his 2024 season.
But depending on who the Bears take at No. 10, Jones could become expendable. If Will Campbell is the Bears' selection in the first round, Jones will have lost his starting spot as the team's left tackle. Keeping him for depth notwithstanding, the Bears could move Jones near the start of the season if they have already drafted his replacement.
3. Tyrique Stevenson, CB
This is more of a shock-factor guess than something that will actually happen, however, the Bears' new coaching staff may not be married to Tyrique Stevenson. Stevenson is a promising player but had one too many instances during the 2024 season where he was a distraction. If the Bears take a cornerback early during the 2025 NFL Draft, a Stevenson trade may be one of the immediate moves to happen in the aftermath.
