Brutal. Just brutal for the Chicago Bears after suffering a 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2.

The story of the game was quarterback Caleb Williams hurting his hamstring and needing to be carted off the field. After that moment in the fourth quarter, though, it was all a blur as Bears fans blacked out, with nothing else really mattering then.

Still, there were some positives to take away from the game, but unfortunately there were more negatives, unfortunatel. Here's a look at who the biggest winners and losers were from the Bears' loss to the Vikings.

Winners and losers from Bears' loss to the Vikings in Week 2

Loser: Caleb Williams, QB

Let's get this out of the way. It was already a struggle with Williams, with the interception and the offensive struggles, but the hamstring injury just sucked the air out of Soldier Field. Who knows what's going to happen with the Williams situation moving forward, but he had a rough day at the office overall.

Losers: Bears fans

Finally, a franchise quarterback comes in and changes the team's future, and then he gets hurt. Bears fans have gone through so much pain with the quarterback situation over the last few decades, and it still stings for this franchise. Why can't Bears fans have nice things?

Winner: Malik Muhammad, DB

The more Muhammad plays, the more Bears fans are 100% convinced that he is either the future CB2 or nickel for this team because he is simply good. He finished with three tackles, one quarterback hit, one tackle for loss, and one sack in the loss. Muhammad still has some development to do, but this fourth-round pick is working out really well for them so far.

Loser: Sam Roush, TE

Multiple drops in this game and the struggles with blocking are really starting to strike a nerve with Bears fans. Roush was brought in to be the future TE2 of the team, but it's becoming clear, after he took over for Cole Kmet in the game when he got hurt, that Roush is just not ready to play. He was a liability for this team.

Winner: D'Andre Swift, RB

No, he didn't have quite the same game he did in the Week 1 win over the Carolina Panthers, but he still played really well. He rushed for 45 yards on 16 carries and caught five passes for 54 yards, leading the team. The offense didn't do much, but Swift was one of the few bright spots.

Loser: Colston Loveland, TE

There's plenty of blame to go around for the offensive struggles, but this is now two straight weeks of dud performances from Loveland. He at least caught a pass in this game, but it went for three yards. This is so similar to Loveland's 2025 start, and it's a massive disappointment for Bears fans.

Winner: Dillon Thieneman, S

Another rookie defensive back that continues to impress week after week. Thieneman finished with seven tackles and one pass deflection, but his pass breakup of Justin Jefferson in the end zone on the first drive of the game literally kept the Bears in the game the whole time. Chicago is seeing Thieneman's versatility on display, and it's been fun to watch so far.

Losers: Bears' offensive tackles

The Bears surrendered four sacks, and three came from Dallas Turner and Andrew Van Ginkel. The Bears' interior offensive line did no better, with Jalen Redmond making life miserable for them, but Darnell Wright, Braxton Jones, and Theo Benedet, in general, didn't do the job. That's not going to fly, especially if Tyson Bagent ends up as the starting quarterback moving forward with Williams' injury.

Winner: James Lynch, DL

Lynch made a surprise start, played a lot, and did well. He finished with seven tackles and was involved in a lot of the running plays. This guy really shined in training camp and preseason and is starting to get more playing time on the field.
