3. The Chicago Bears should see Caleb Williams continue to ascend

Caleb Williams is in the same boat as Rome Odunze. However, while Odunze has not had his official breakout game, which proves that he is going to be a problem in the NFL, the last two weeks have started to look like those games for Williams.

For Williams, you could probably argue that the bye week came at the wrong time because he is hot right now and would probably want to keep going. However, there is a strong case to be made that he will come out of the bye week playing much better.

The reality is that while Williams was playing well, he faced the three worst defenses in the NFL by expected points allowed. Still, he started the season with the sixth-ranked Titans, and the eighth-ranked Texans before facing the 22nd-ranked Colts.

It started rocky, then smoothed out. So, while life has been easy for Williams lately, it was nice to have after being thrown out there against strong opposition. Now, Williams can take this time to understand what worked against the bad defenses and what did not against the good. He can take his confidence, and what he learned and now continue against whatever ranked defense the team faces moving forward. Look for Williams to come out of the bye week playing much better against higher-ranked units.
