Chicago Bears fans are probably happy to finally be out of training camp after a long and painful five weeks of training camp.
The Bears had so many injuries on the roster, including Coby Bryant, Luther Burden III, Kyle Monangai, Braxton Jones, Montez Sweat, Zavion Thomas, and many more, for long periods. The franchise survived through most of that, and many of them have returned to the practice field.
When all was said and done, the Bears had several winners and losers who escaped training camp from the team. Here's a look at the biggest winners and losers from the team.
Winners and losers from Chicago Bears' 2026 training camp
Winner: Salvon Ahmed, RB
Ahmed was a big surprise in camp, as he played as he did with the Miami Dolphins before his injuries. He caught a 49-yard touchdown pass against the Cleveland Browns and has filled in for Monangai at camp by making highlight plays. No one thought Ahmed was going to make the 53-man roster, but now he's got a real shot ahead of him.
Loser: Kyler Gordon, CB
Gordon never appeared in a single practice during training camp, and he has continued to rehab his soft-tissue injury. Each day he isn't on the field is another day closer to the Bears moving on from him as their starting nickel. Gordon's future in Chicago doesn't look good if he can't get back on the field soon.
Winner: Jordan van den Berg, DT
This was by far the most impressive rookie in the 2026 class and the surprise of training camp. Chicago had big expectations for van den Berg entering camp, and he exceeded them on multiple occasions, breaking through the line to the point that he was included with the first team by the end of camp. He's got a chance to be a long-term starter on this team for a long time at the rate he is going.
Loser: Braxton Jones, LT
There was so much hype about Jones coming into training camp as a new man and stepping up in a big way. Well, it was just more of the same from him: getting hurt and regressing from the left tackle position. It's a good thing Ozzy Trapilo is coming back soon because Jones might be in his final season as a Bear after the way he has played over the last two weeks.
Winner: Colston Loveland, TE
Bears fans were hoping to see Loveland take that next step in the passing game with DJ Moore gone, and he certainly did. Loveland made great plays throughout camp and looked like a guy who was going to play like a top-five tight end in this league. There was plenty of buzz around him entering Year 2 in the NFL, and Loveland is living up to all of that.
Loser: Jedrick Wills Jr., OT
It was truly a disappointment to see a former first-round pick just never live up to the expectations he was supposed to. Wills went from competing for the left tackle job to possibly not even making the team, as he got moved to right tackle for reps. If he doesn't make the team, that could be the final blow to Wills' NFL career.
Winner: Sam Roush, TE
The Bears' rookie class ended up being fairly quiet, but while first-round pick Dillon Thieneman had a nice camp, Roush might have been one of the most impressive. Roush improved as a receiver, and his blocking lived up to expectations. What made his camp so good was how he improved each week and now looks like a solid future backup for Loveland.

Winner: Caleb Williams, QB
Williams entered training camp as a superstar after being on the cover of Madden 27. He left camp an even better quarterback, outperforming his camp performance last season. Plenty of reasons suggest Williams could be an MVP candidate in 2026.
