Chicago Bears fans had a blast watching the first preseason game of the 2026 campaign, as their team blew out the Cleveland Browns 34-10.
The Bears' offense dominated, with over 400 yards and multiple big plays in the passing game. Their defense was just as impressive, with three turnovers created and two fourth-down stops in the win.
With a game like this, there is bound to be way more winners than losers from the contest. Here's a look at the winners and losers from the Bears' victory over the Browns.
Winners and losers from Bears' preseason opening win over the Browns
Winner: Kaden Davis, WR
Davis has been the Bears' training camp darling so far, and the preseason confirmed what reports have been saying. He finished with four receptions for 88 yards, including a 41-yard reception. Outside of one drop, Davis had a great game and is going to make the Bears' decision on keeping a wide receiver a lot tougher.
Winner: Jamree Kromah, EDGE
Last year, Austin Booker was the star on defense with four sacks in the preseason. Kromah is looking like the 2026 version of that after his stellar debut with the Bears. How about six tackles, three tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, two sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery? If someone needed to make a 53-man roster, that was the way to do it.
Loser: Josh Blackwell, CB
Blackwell is a great special teams player and should still make the 53-man roster, but being placed as an outside corner wasn't the right spot for him. He finished third on the team with five tackles, but got exposed in coverage a bit with a lot of completions allowed in the first half. Depth was a concern at cornerback, and it might still be after how Blackwell played.
Winner: Salvon Ahmed, RB
Ahmed seems to be fully recovered from his injury and looks like his old self. He showed that speed on full display during his incredible 49-yard touchdown catch. He showed a stiff arm and his ability to break tackles. He finished with 17 rushing yards on two carries and three catches for 55 yards and a score in his Bears debut. Ahmed made it clear that he's going to challenge Roschon Johnson for that RB3 job.
Winner: Antwaan Randle El, WR Coach
An assistant coach isn't often added to the list, but Randle El deserves a lot of credit for what he did. First, his wide receivers looked great in the preseason game, but head coach Ben Johnson said after the game that Randle El called the plays in the second half. He threw for 24 points and 242 yards. A pretty good day for a first-time play caller and someone who might have put himself in the conversation for a future offensive coordinator job.
Winner: Beanie Bishop, S
After the endless number of injuries in the secondary, it was Bishop who came out as the biggest winner of the group. Yes, the two interceptions were both overthrows that fell into his lap, but he also had two tackles and three pass deflections in the win. The Bears might have something special back there with Bishop that they need to consider for the rest of training camp.

Winner: Ruben Hyppolite II, LB
It was good to see Hyppolite finally put things together on defense, and he looked good. He finished with a game-high seven tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass deflection. There were some questions about Hyppolite making the 53-man roster, but he might have helped himself with that performance.
