Okay that's good!

Even though the pain of losing on the final play, the Chicago Bears felt it even more by seeing one of their top offensive players get hurt.

With the Bears down 42-38 and inside the San Francisco 49ers' 10-yard line, Chicago had one last play with Caleb Williams running around and short-hopping a pass to Jahdae Walker in the end zone as the Bears lost the game. What was even worse about that play was that rookie receiver Luther Burden III got hurt on the play and was carted off the field.

There was no update after the game from Burden or Bears head coach Ben Johnson, but ESPN's Adam Schefter got the scoop that Burden suffered a quad injury, and it is not expected to be serious. Burden is going to have it checked out with additional testing to determine the severity of the injury.

Burden's injury doesn't seem as bad for the Bears

What bad luck is it for Burden to have another lower leg injury after just recovering from the ankle injury he suffered against the Cleveland Browns in Week 15? That ankle injury caused him to miss the Week 16 win over the Green Bay Packers.

Burden is coming off a career day against the 49ers, as he had nine receptions for 138 yards and one touchdown in the loss. It was a great sight to see him play so well with Williams as the chemistry is starting to build between the two, but a horrible sight to see him get hurt.

Chicago is hoping it's nothing too serious, as they already have Rome Odunze missing the last month of football due to a foot injury and Olamide Zaccheaus missing the 49ers game with illness. The Bears can't afford to have anyone else out at receiver.

The next day or two will be big to see where Burden's progress is at, but it's looking like he has avoided disaster for now.
