The 2025 Chicago Bears offense came out of nowhere to dominate the NFL throughout the season, and the stats keep showing how good they truly were.

Everyone knows the Bears are ranked sixth in total offense at 369.2 yards per game and third in rushing at 144.5 yards per game. How about when it comes to protecting the football?

The Bears were actually the best in the NFL last year in giveaways, with only 11 giveaways, including seven interceptions and four fumbles. Senior NFL researcher Tony Holzman-Escareno added on top of that, as Chicago was second in the league in giveaways in their own territory with five, as the Eagles had the least amount with four.

Bears were among the best in protecting the football on their side of the ball

Fans love to talk about Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and all his struggles with accuracy through the first two years of his NFL career, but no one can deny that he rarely puts his team in bad positions. Williams has only 13 career interceptions in 34 regular season games, a 1.1% interception rate, which would be an NFL record at the rate he is going.

A big credit to this has to go to Bears head coach Ben Johnson and the work he has done with the offensive unit. This was a group that was the worst in the NFL in 2024 and transformed itself overnight into one of the best.

While this was a unit that struggled to start games fast throughout the 2025 campaign, the Bears were never out of games, in part because Williams was so clutch and played better late in games. Also, a big thing, though, is that even when they were off to slow starts, they didn't turn the ball over often, which put them in bigger holes.
