Well, it appears that the Chicago Bears fan base is not the only ones that want this new stadium drama to be in the rearview mirror.

A new report by the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs says the NFL wants to meet with the Bears after the NFL Draft, the week of April 27. Biggs shared the details of what the meeting will be about.

"The meeting will be held virtually, the source said, with the committee aiming to get the latest information from team officials. Bears Chairman George McCaskey is a member of the committee, which is chaired by Minnesota Vikings owner Mark Wilf and also includes owners Art Rooney II (Pittsburgh Steelers), Jed York (San Francisco 49ers), Amy Adams Strunk (Tennessee Titans), Stephen Davis (Dallas Cowboys) and high-ranking executives Sashi Brown (Baltimore Ravens) and Kevin Demoff (Los Angeles Rams). The committee’s role is ultimately to make recommendations to Commissioner Roger Goodell and the league as a whole when it comes to stadium construction, financing and renovations."

The NFL wants an update on the Bears' new stadium

Over the past year-plus, the Bears have been planning to build a new multi-billion-dollar dome stadium, with renderings and a plan ready to go. Originally, the stadium was going to be built in Arlington Heights, but after some issues with that, Hammond, Indiana came into the picture, and now there is a fight to get the stadium.

The state of Indiana has already passed its stadium bill, but the Bears are giving Illinois time to pass its stadium bill to keep the team in the state. Earlier in the month, the Bears said they were looking to make a decision in the coming weeks to move past this drama and start construction.

At this point, it is anyone's guess what the Bears are going to do, but it appears the NFL might be ready to give the franchise a push to get it done as soon as possible.
