Gino Terrell is a 41-time journalism award recipient. Terrell’s most recent award was a third place finish at the 2021 National Arts & Entertainment Awards for Best Action Photography and a second place finish at LA Press Club’s 2019 SoCal Journalism Awards for Best Celebrity Feature. In 2018, Terrell was nominated for two professional National Arts & Entertainment Awards. In 2017, Terrell was notably named the National Association of Black Journalists Student Journalist of the Year. In the past, he’s covered Minnesota’s arts scene under Twin Cities Daily Planet (2014-15). The Hamline University graduate also freelanced for MinnPost and interned at Pioneer Press, KSTP TV (the Minneapolis ABC News Affiliate), Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, AdoptAClassroom.org, Hamline Midway Elders and American Public Media Group. He once founded a national award winning student-magazine called Pipers In-Depth in college.
