After taking down the Tennessee Titans 24-15 in the preseason finale, the Chicago Bears now have some tough decisions to make with the 53-man roster.

Several players will be cut from the team and will either land on the Bears' practice squad, play for another team, or, sadly, have their NFL dreams end. These days are never easy, and this won't be an exception, since the Bears have a lot of great talent on the team during the 2026 training camp and preseason.

Notable cuts

Terell Smith, CB

Smith was a former fifth-round pick of the Bears. He's coming off a great preseason game against the Tennessee Titans with two pass deflections, but injuries kept him off the field. It's a shame because he had potential, but his good performance was too little too late.

Scotty Miller, WR

The Bears signed Miller in the middle of minicamp, and he performed well in the preseason. There were too many good players at the wide receiver position for him to stay on the team.

Kiran Amegadjie, OT

Amegadjie was a former Bears draft pick who couldn't emerge as a potential starter. He competed for the starting left tackle job and didn't do enough to win it. By the end of camp, he was playing as much right tackle than left.

Salvon Ahmed, RB

This might be the most surprising release of any player on the roster, as Ahmed looked great in training camp and the preseason. He had a 49-yard touchdown catch that got everyone's attention against the Browns in Week 1 of the preseason. Ultimately, his great preseason performance was not enough to beat out Roschon Johnson for the RB3.

Jedrick Wills Jr. OT

Wills was a former first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns, but an injury in 2024 kept him off the field for nearly two years. He competed for the left tackle job during training camp, but struggled mightily. Not sure what the future holds for Wills, but he had a disappointing short run with the Bears.
