Chicago Bears fans tuned into the Buffalo Bills-Detroit Lions Thursday Night Football game on Prime Video when they saw their former wide receiver, DJ Moore, get hurt.
Moore had a scary injury in the contest when his shoulder took a hit. He left the game, but ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter had some good news about Moore's injury.
"Bills WR DJ Moore suffered a shoulder injury Thursday night that doctors do not consider serious and will leave him day to day, per source. “He has a chance to play next week (vs. the Chargers), but it’s not a lock, either,” said the source."
Bears fans happy to hear DJ Moore is doing okay
Moore is off to a promising start with the Bills, catching five passes for 100 yards and one touchdown in the Week 1 win over the Houston Texans. In the Lions game, Moore was knocked out early in the first half, so he had only one carry for -1 yard.
Bears fans are unfortunately all too familiar with Moore being seriously hurt and giving them a scare. Many might remember what happened after the Monday Night Football win over the Washington Commanders last season, when Moore was transported to their local hospital with an injury. Moore played the next week, and despite being banged up all year, he played in every game.
That was what Bears fans loved most about Moore: his grit. He was one of the toughest players this franchise has had in years. Moore has never been afraid to take a hit or put his body on the line to help the team win.
He demonstrated that over the last three years, he was in Chicago. In 51 games, he caught 244 passes for 3,012 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Last year, he caught 50 passes for 682 yards and six touchdowns. Although it was considered a down season for the veteran, Moore was a major factor in the team's playoff run.
The Bears traded Moore to the Bills this offseason to save money on the salary cap and go younger at receiver. Moore was a valuable leader in Chicago's locker room and a big reason the team succeeded during the 2025 campaign.

Bears fans will keep watching Moore and follow him, with a small part of them hoping he continues his success in Buffalo. After the injury, though, everyone just wants to see him back on the field and doing what he does best: being a true weapon within an offense.
