The moment has finally come as the Chicago Bears have executed a trade involving star wide receiver DJ Moore.
While it still needs to be finalized and official when the new league year begins, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter has reported that Moore is being sent to the Buffalo Bills. Compensation is still being figured out between the two sides.
Moore was traded from the Carolina Panthers to the Bears back in 2023 that helped the team land Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze in the 2024 NFL Draft. In three seasons, Moore posted one 1,000-yard season and had 682 yards and six touchdowns in 2025.

This was expected as the Bears were about to have a $28.5 million hit from Moore being on the roster. Now with him off the roster, Chicago is saving over $16 million with him being traded before June 1.
The Bears are still in very good shape on offense with Luther Burden emerging in his first season with the team, and Oduzne is still seen as the number one wide receiver. 2025 first-round pick Colston Loveland was the team's leading receiver in 2025, so expect him to still be the focal point of the offense.
Now the next domino effect for the Bears is trying to get a trade done for Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby. That will require cap space and picks to send, so that will need to be worked on.

Chciago is rolling strong as they still need to make more moves in the offseason to clear up cap space, including trading Tremaine Edmunds, but this is a good start for the team.
