Too many times, the media lives in the past and wants to share everything that was bad about Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams in his rookie season. The research team with ESPN made it 10 times worse with new stats that Bears fans can get ingrained in their minds.
ESPN shared its massive NFL preview article, which examines multiple sections for each team. One part discusses "QB Stat to Know" and only includes negative stats for Williams from the 2024 season.
"Williams ranked 28th out of 32 qualified quarterbacks in QBR in 2024 and averaged 5.1 yards per dropback (fewest in the NFL). Williams was sacked 68 times, 16 more than any other QB last season (Stroud, 52)."
Everyone has to move on from 2024 and focus on the 2025 Bears
If people really want to continue living in the past, how about looking at what was good with Williams in 2024? He had 20 touchdowns to just six interceptions. That touchdown-to-interception ratio is pretty good, and the low number of picks is something that doesn't get talked about as much with the media.
Looking forward to the 2025 season, things are entirely different for Williams. He's got a new head coach in Ben Johnson, who is pushing him hard to improve as a passer and leader. How about the offensive line, as it has three new starters on the interior. The Bears even added two offensive weapons in the NFL Draft, Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III, to help load up the offense.
Last year, the Chicago Bears had the worst offense in the NFL, averaging just 284.6 yards per game. Not everything can be put on Williams, as there were issues with the offensive line and the running game.

Much has improved in 2025 that will help Bears fans forget about the dreadful 2024 season. Williams has everything he needs to have a massive uptick in his play this year.
