The 2025 rookie class for the Chicago Bears have wrapped up their first training camp and preseason in the NFL.
It appears that Bears general manager Ryan Poles has drafted well with a lot of great potential coming from the rookies. Potential stars were shown in Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III.
How did all the rookies do for the Bears in the 2025 preseason?
Colston Loveland, TE (Grade: B)
Loveland proved to be a playmaker on offense and can make those key blocks on the line. He caught four passes for 38 yards, including an 18-yard reception. Cole Kmet and Loveland are going to make a great one-two punch at tight end.
Luther Burden III, WR (Grade: A-)
Burden has all the potential to be a future star in the NFL. He showed in the preseason that he is willing to get his hands dirty to make the necessary blocks for his teammates. Burden finished with five receptions for 78 yards. Bears fans will enjoy watching him play for a long time.
Ozzy Trapilo, RT (Grade: C+)
Trapilo had a solid preseason and was once in the conversation to be the starting left tackle. Last week, he moved over to the right side of the line as the Bears worked on making him a swing tackle. A lot of Bears fans wanted him to take over the left tackle job from Braxton Jones, but Trapilo is more comfortable on the right side for the time being.
Shemar Turner, DT (Grade: N/A)
No games played for Turner as he has been recovering from his ankle injury. The hope is he will be ready to go for the regular season, but he will need to ease into the games to adjust to the speed of the NFL.
Ruben Hyppolite II, LB (Grade: B+)
Hyppolite led the Bears in tackles during the preseason with 16. He got plenty of playing time and looked great as fans were in awe of his speed. Noah Sewell is competing with Hyppolite for a starting job at linebacker, so it's not clear if Hyppolite will start, but he certainly earned playing time.
Zah Frazier, CB (Grade: N/A)
The good news for Frazier is that he arrived at the Bears facility this past week which means he is close to returning to the field. He hasn't played in any preseason games so no grade for him. It'll be fascinating to see how he does once he does play.
Luke Newman, OL (Grade: B-)
Newman showed the Bears in training camp and preseason that he can be versatile on the line. That's an important trait to have to make the 53-man roster. He should be a lock to make the roster and could be a good developmental player this season.
Kyle Monangai, RB (Grade: C+)
Bears fans only got one game out of Monangai, but he got six carries for 30 yards against the Miami Dolphins. There's enough shown that he earned the third-string job at running back, but there are some questions as to when he will be back, even though he isn't dealing with a serious injury.

Undrafted Rookie Standout: Jahdae Walker, WR (Grade: A-)
Walker was as clutch of a receiver for the Bears as any fan will ever see in the preseason. He finished with eight catches for 98 yards and a team-high two touchdowns. Both scores came in the fourth quarter to give the Bears the lead, including his game-winning touchdown catch with two seconds left against the Kansas City Chiefs. Those scores alone should be enough to get Walker a spot on the 53-man roster.
