A couple of weeks ago, Chicago Bears fans were trying to act as if the sky wasn't falling. The Bears had just been run over by the Detroit Lions, who put up a whopping 52 points on Chicago's defense.
Injuries were mounting. Jaylon Johnson was set to be out for maybe the entire season, while other defensive starters were still reeling. Yet, somehow, head coach Ben Johnson found a way to right this ship before it sunk.
After two games, the Bears joined nine other teams in the 0-2 club, including the Kansas City Chiefs. And, after Week 4, only two of those teams climbed out of the hole to even their record at 2-2.
Yep, it was the Bears and the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes and Caleb Williams. Andy Reid and Ben Johnson. They made it happen.
The Bears are nowhere near the Chiefs, but may have unlocked a key similarity after the Week 4 win vs. Raiders
As Johnson said after the game, the Bears found a way to win. It was truly a character win. In a story Bears fans had heard so many times, the team went up late in the game and then, it was the defense's turn to make a stop in order to win the game.
Fans watched as the Raiders marched down the field in a way that looked all too familiar. Las Vegas lined up for what would've been a game-winning kick, but Josh Blackwell came through with a block. And, it was an expected block, believe it or not.
Special teams coordinator Richard Hightower knew it was coming, and after a week of watching film, even Blackwell knew he was going to get himself a block. Finally, it came at just the right time.
This was eerily similar to how the Chiefs have been winning games over the last couple of years. Every time you think they're out of it, they come through and win, even if it's in an ugly fashion. It's just what they do. Good teams find ways to win, and that's what the Bears did against the Raiders.

Being able to even their record at 2-2 going into the bye is a huge win for the Bears, who are looking to get healthier and hopefully see players like TJ Edwards and Kyler Gordon return, among others. Following the bye week, Chicago gets what will be a legendary rematch between them and the Washington Commanders.
