The Chicago Bears have completed their second practice in preparation for the Green Bay Packers, and it was not good for their running back, Kyle Monangai, who headlines the big names who missed practice.

Monangai injured his thumb during the 23-12 Week 4 win over the New York Jets, but the media was told it wouldn't be a concern. With a second day missed, questions now linger about his status for the Packers game.

Questions surrounding Kyle Monangai entering Bears' Week 5 Packers game

Monangai is a key part of the Bears' rushing attack, and the team cannot afford to leave him out. Swift is dealing with fumbling issues, but he was limited in practice himself, so both running backs are banged up going into the game. Roschon Johnson would be the next man up if Monangai is not able to go, but Friday's practice will tell the story.

Williams missed another practice but is not expected to practice this week. He has already been ruled out of the game. The good news is that he is at least making progress and could be back on the field in the next week or two.

Lewis is an encouraging update after being ruled out for Week 4. He appears to be on track to return to the lineup against the Packers.

The offensive line looks much better shape after three of their starters miss practice on Wednesday. Jackson, Thuney, and Wright were all back at practice and working out. Expect all three to be in the lineup unless there is a setback.

Gordon is making good progress himself, but it doesn't sound like the Bears are in no rush to bring him off IR. He has been fully practicing over the last week with the Bears. It'll come down to next week and what they want to do with him.

Between Elliott, Turner, and Sewell, there is no timeline for them to return with their 21-day windows starting to close. Elliott looks further away than Turner and Sewell. Watch for Turner and Sewell to be active soon.

With the Monangai storyline starting to worry Bears fans, Friday's practice will show whether he is ready to go or not. In a big game like this, Chicago needs him if he can play in the game.
