After getting their first division win of the season in Week 11, the Chicago Bears now enter into a week where they should be preparing to take on an old foe.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers spent years tormenting the Bears while with the Green Bay Packers, and now, the Bears will host his new team in Week 12. Yes, Rodgers' Steelers travel to take on the Bears at Soldier Field the week after Chicago took down the Vikings in dramatic fashion.
But Rodgers may not be under center in this game. He left Pittsburgh's Week 11 win over the Cincinnati Bengals with a wrist injury and did not return. Now, after an update courtesy of ESPN's Adam Schefter, we know a little more about the severity of Rodgers' injury.
According to Schefter's sources, the immediate concern is that Rodgers has a "slight break" in his left wrist.
It sure feels like Aaron Rodgers will miss his final chance to take on the Bears at Soldier Field
Schefter would go on to say that Rodgers is going to undergo further testing on Monday to determine how long the Steelers' quarterback will be out. Those words don't make it sound like Rodgers will bounce right back into the starting lineup for Week 12 in Chicago.
If Rodgers misses this start at Soldier Field, there's a chance that he will have already played his last game in the Windy City back on December 4, 2022, when the Packers won 28-19.
While it might be an advantage for the Bears to see Mason Rudolph instead of Rodgers, it's also a missed opportunity to get one last crack at beating a guy who claims to "own" this franchise.
The Bears' last home win over Rodgers came back in the 2018 season when Chicago won 24-17 and Rodgers has a career record of 24-5 against them, so his "I still own you!" comments aren't completely correct, but Bears fans know the truth. He has flat-out dominated Chicago, and there's no denying it.
This is the number one player Bears fans would love to have just one last chance at beating. But if he does indeed have a broken wrist, that doesn't seem like a legitimate possibility.

You never know, though. Don't put it past Rodgers' ego to suit up with a broken non-throwing wrist and try to gut out one last win over a longtime foe.
