No, we're not in some absurd time loop. The Chicago Bears, once again, came away with a victory that came down to the wire. Yet another game-winning drive led to a walk-off field goal for Cairo Santos to give the Bears sweet revenge over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11.

It wasn't necessarily pretty, but why would it be? It was a classic black-and-blue matchup; a true NFC North battle between the Bears and Vikings. And in the end, it was Chicago who came out on top. After the game, reporters caught up with quarterback Caleb Williams, who gave every Bears fan zero reason to come down from their high.

“It doesn’t matter when. It doesn’t matter how, it doesn’t matter who. We got the guys. We got the coaches. When our moment comes, we’ll make the play….We’re gonna go win the game," he said in reference to the Bears' ability to come back and win games.

He isn't wrong, there. This was the Bears' fifth win thanks to a late-fourth quarter drive by Williams and company.

Caleb Williams is becoming exactly who Bears fans had long hoped he would be

This game technically goes down, then, as Williams' fifth game-winning drive of the season. Just last week, his fourth such drive tied a franchise record (done three times by Jay Cutler).

Now, Williams' fifth comeback victory officially breaks the franchise record.

Coming out of USC, everybody remembers the comparisons of Williams to the great Patrick Mahomes. Now, this isn't saying Williams is equal to Mahomes. However, the way Williams can get out of pressure situations, escape sacks, and extend plays is becoming alarmingly similar to that of the three-time Super Bowl MVP.

Many Bears fans likely had a hard time believing the franchise was getting a quarterback who could be trusted late in close games. They had a hard time believing the Bears were getting someone who could maneuver between would-be tacklers and sacks just like Mahomes could.

Yet, here we are, over halfway into the season, and Williams is doing just that. Five game-winning drives and a legitimate ability to escape trouble with the best of them ... we're starting to see that this is more than just a one or two-week thing.

Williams and head coach Ben Johnson have adapted the notion that this is simply who the Bears are. They know how to win football games when everything is on the line.

This franchise has its quarterback and head coach. They've got a match made in heaven. It's time to start believing it.
