Bleacher Report recently went through every team and listed the biggest need for each of them.
The Chicago Bears' biggest need may be obvious at this point, as running back was the selection.
Do the Chicago Bears need a running back?
Many thought that the Bears would be taking a running back high, and if Ashton Jeanty fell to 10, there is almost no doubt that he would have been picked. There are rumors that the team tried to trade up to secure TreVeyon Henderson before taking Luther Burden III as well. Therefore, it is not due to a lack of trying.
However, the reports that the team was so high on both make it easier to suggest that the team understands this is their most significant need as well. D’Andre Swift is fine as a complementary running back, but he has never been able to handle a full workload. Beyond that, the last time he worked with Ben Johnson, he found himself on the trade block. Will he take a full workload?
When Roschon Johnson gets chances, he looks like he could be a thunder to someone's lightning, but the issue is that he cannot seem to consistently stay on the field to take on those chances. Whether it is his fault or not, he has shown little in his first two years.

The team had to wait until the seventh round to find their running back, and while it is true that running backs can be plucked out late and turn into starters, that is because so many are available. So, for every hit in the late rounds, there are three misses; they are just taken more often here because of the draft cost.
The team passed on signing Nick Chubb and JK Dobbins and may resort to a late addition in August to complete this room. Do the Bears have enough, and should they have been more aggressive to upgrade?
