Practices are over, and the Chicago Bears are set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in a Week 3 showdown between two of the NFC's top teams.

Chicago needs a win after a disappointing 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2. The Eagles are undefeated after picking up a last-second 24-20 win over the Tennessee Titans last week.

A lot has been going on with the Bears over the last few days that fans need to know before kickoff against the Eagles. Here's the news from the last few days that Bears fans will want to know.

Bears QB carousel takes interesting turn

Case Keenum has been in line to be the starting quarterback with Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent injured, but that has taken quite a turn no one saw coming. Bears head coach Ben Johnson said before Saturday's practice that Bagent was cleared to practice, but didn't say whether he would start.

Bagent indeed practiced and was listed as questionable on the injury report. Williams was ruled out with a hamstring injury after missing all of practice this week.

Now the attention turns to either Bagent or Keenum starting against the Eagles. Bears fans will have to wait for the inactive list to come out 90 minutes before kickoff.

Bears' injury update before Eagles showdown

Besides Williams, the Bears have two other players who won't play. Linebacker Noah Sewell (Achilles) and defensive lineman Shemar Turner (knee) were also ruled out for the game against the Eagles. Sewell and Turner are on the reserve/PUP list and have had just one week of practice; they have two more weeks to work out before the Bears need to activate them.

Good news for the Bears is that key starters like cornerback Tyrique Stevenson (hamstring), kicker Cairo Santos (right hip), and running back Kyle Monangai (knee) are all good to play. All three missed at least one practice, but worked their way back to being able to play in Week 3.

Eagles' final injury report before Week 3 game

The Eagles will be down three players in the contest: wide receiver Hollywood Brown (ankle), tight end Dallas Goedert (knee), and offensive tackle Fred Johnson (knee). Starting edge rusher Jonathan Greenard is listed as questionable with a pectoral injury.

Philly will have their star players DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Saquon Barkley (stinger) for the game. The Bears are just waiting to hear whether they will face their former Vikings opponent, Greenard.

Bears bring back long snapper and cut veteran receiver

Chicago made a couple of roster moves on their practice squad before playing the Eagles. The Bears re-signed long snapper Beau Gardner and released veteran wide receiver Scotty Miller.

Gardner was released earlier in the week and replaced by Scott Daly after some issues with the field goal operations in the loss to the Vikings, but the Bears wanted to keep the rookie around. Miller spent the first two weeks on the practice squad after signing with the Bears in May.

"You want to run through a brick wall for the man. And if I get a chance to, to have that guy in my ear, golly, man, he's going to go down as probably the best play caller, play designer, coach -- all of the above -- when it's all said and done."

"It's Miami tough."

"I do think there's something in the water down there. Guys are a little bit different."
