The Chicago Bears completed another successful preseason after beating the Tennessee Titans 24-15, but that is in the past; their 53-man roster is the present.
There were bound to be some surprises on the roster, but a last-second release certainly had Bears fans talking. Chicago actually left running back Salvon Ahmed off the roster after being released.

Bears finalize 53-man roster with Salvon Ahmed left off the team
Ahmed is by far the biggest surprise to not make the team. He showed off the speed and versatility that made him popular among fans. The Bears should consider him for the practice squad if anything.
Wide receiver was another focus, as Kaden Davis didn't make the team and the Bears went with five receivers instead. Davis was great all through training camp and preseason, leaving the door wide open for him to get on the practice squad as well.
The linebacker position will need some attention after two were placed on IR or PUP. Watch for the Bears to add some talen there.
As for the rest of the roster, the Bears did about what most people expected, keeping the main group of players. They loaded up with extra defensive backs and made sure they have the depth needed to get through the 2026 season.

There are going to be some interesting moments now with the Bears, especially after what general manager Ryan Poles did to trade Gervon Dexter Sr. away. Even though this is the 53-man roster, can Poles add more talent, or will the Bears lean on their rookies and young players to help them?
