Well, all is good in the world with the Chicago Bears' defensive line, with James Lynch not having to clean out his locker room.
Lynch was one of many players the Bears released as part of the NFL's 53-man roster cutdowns. Bears reporters said the move was temporary and that he would eventually return.
That's exactly what happened, as The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs reported that Lynch has re-signed with the Bears to the 53-man roster. Undrafted rookie tight end Hayden Large will be placed on IR to make room for Lynch.

While the stat line might only show four tackles in the preseason, Lynch really stood as a standout from the three games. He was a bully on the line and wreaked havoc.
Lynch was originally a fourth round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has played for the Vikings and Tennessee Titans in his career, racking up 98 tackles, seven tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits, 3.5 sacks, three pass deflections, and one fumble recovery in 71 games.
He adds more depth to the Bears' defensive tackle position that has a mix of rookies and veterans there. Lynch would make it six defensive tackles that are on the 53-man roster.
For the time being, Grady Jarrett looks to be one of the starters and rookie sixth round pick Jordan van den Berg could be the other. Lynch could be in the rotation for the defensive line, but there is a lot of competition there.
The Bears are really revamping that defensive tackle position that really makes it unrecognizable from last year. Gervon Dexter Sr. is the biggest name on the team that is not back from last year after just being traded to the Atlanta Falcons.
Chicago could make more moves on their roster since they also have just four linebackers on the roster, so don't expect it to make a big move only the next day or two. They have two weeks to get things figured out before they play the Carolina Panthers in Week 1.
