Typically, when a players-only meeting gets called in the NFL, it usually never goes well afterwards, but for the Chicago Bears, it might have lit a fire under their butts.

Bears starting safety Jaquan Brisker shared with the media after the team's 31-14 blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys that he and defensive tackle Jarrett led a players-only meeting with the team. This occurred after the Bears were embarrassed with a 52-21 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 2.

This is not the first reported players-only meeting being called in the NFL this season. The Miami Dolphins called one after their blowout Week 1 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, and that didn't do anything for them as they are 0-3 on the season.

Bears players took ownership and made the most of the opportunity with a win

Chicago is hoping their win over the Cowboys was a defining moment for the season, as that players-only meeting seemed to really help the defense that needed it. The Bears' defense forced four turnovers in the win. Dallas was also just three of 11 on third down and one of four in the red zone.

One of the biggest complaints about this Bears defense was that their pass rush was inconsistent. They played much better against Dallas with seven quarterback hits and two sacks. Montez Sweat led the way with two quarterback hits and one sack.

The best part was that the Cowboys only scored 14 points, a season-low for the Bears' defense. Chicago was able to keep the Cowboys out of the end zone throughout the second half thanks to some clutch turnovers being created.

That players-only meeting was much-needed for a team that was heading down a rough path. Instead, they have for at least one week dug themselves out of a massive hole and now much put together a winning streak that can get them back into postseason contention.
