Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams may not have his backup for the Week 15 game against the Cleveland Browns, but he will have his top wide receiver.

The Bears released their Week 15 inactives with six players being included. One player who isn't on there: wide receiver Rome Odunze.

  • Tyson Bagent, QB
  • Travis Homer, RB
  • Dominique Robinson. DL
  • Jahdae Walker, WR
  • Ruben Hyppolite II, LB
  • Jonathan Ford, DL

Bears lose key backup, but get starting receiver back

Odunze's return is massive after he missed the Bears' loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 14 with a foot injury. He did practice all week as a limited participant and was initially questionable for the Browns game. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported before the game that the team was optimistic he would play, and he certainly will.

One aspect of the game for Odunze to watch is whether he could be on the pitch count, since he wasn't a full participant in practice this week. That could leave more opportunities for DJ Moore and rookie Luther Burden III to get more looks.

Losing Bagent may not seem like a big deal, but it does now leave the backup job to Case Keenum behind Williams. The Bears will have to make sure that Williams doesn't get hurt in the game and stays healthy.

There will be no Hyppolite for the Browns game, which will affect the Browns' linebacker depth. He has been missing time with injury throughout the last month, but T.J. Edwards and Noah Sewell will still be in the starting lineup at linebacker, and they have D'Marco Jackson to fill in as the backup.

Chicago has some key guys out, but Odunze being back in the game is massive for a team working to get into the postseason.
