2 winners (and 3 losers) from Bears' soul-crushing Week 14 loss to Packers

Painful to watch.

In no doubt the most painful loss of the 2025 campaign, the Chicago Bears almost had an incredible road win, but fell to the Green Bay Packers 28-21 in Week 14.

It was ultimately a Caleb Williams interception thrown in the end zone on the final possession with under 30 seconds left that doomed the Bears. Chicago's offense finished with just 315 yards after struggling in the first half with only three points scored.

The loss puts the Bears at 9-4 and officially at the bottom of the NFC playoff picture, the seven seed. Unfortunately, there were more losers than winners in this game.

Loser: C.J. Gardner-Johnson, CB

It's unfortunate to put Gardner-Johnson in this category since he did have an interception in the game and had 10 tackles, but he struggled in coverage. Multiple times, when he had to cover fast receivers like Christian Watson and Jayden Reed, he couldn't keep up. Gardner-Johnson did a fine job stepping in for Kyler Gordon, who had a last-second groin injury in pre-game warmups, but that ended up hurting the Bears' defense in the process.

Winners: Bears' Running Backs

Just another solid game on the ground for D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, especially in the second half when Bears head coach Ben Johnson finally started to give them the ball more. They combined for 27 carries for 120 yards, averaging 4.4 yards per carry. Not the same kind of performance against the Philadelphia Eagles, but they made the Packers' defense tired in the second half and got the three to four yards needed on each carry.

Loser: Jonah Jackson, OL

When watching the tape, Jackson got beaten multiple times, especially when Micah Parsons was lined up in front of him. While Jackson did not allow a sack, he did allow two pressures and two hurries in the loss. A lot of Bears offensive linemen could probably be on this one, as the Packers harassed Caleb Williams throughout the night, but Jackson seemed to struggle the most.

Winner: Luther Burden III, WR

With Rome Odunze out of the lineup with his foot injury, the Bears needed their rookie second-round pick to step up, and he certainly did for them. Burden finished as the leading receiver with four receptions on six targets for 62 yards. He seemed to have made consistently good plays when the Bears leaned on him to, so expect more targets to go his way moving forward as potentially the new number two receiver.

Loser: Ben Johnson, Head Coach

Tough to say, but when someone likes to say they enjoy beating a coach twice a year and lose to them the first time, they have to be included as a loser on the list. Some question Johnson about how he handled time management at the end, since the Bears had 22 seconds after Williams' game-sealing interception, and he didn't give them time to get the ball back. It was a rough night overall for the head coach after what has still been a great season so far.
