With some key injuries to the Chicago Bears, they couldn't afford anymore injuries to the team. That ended up not being the case.

The Bears announced right before the Week 14 Green Bay Packers game that starting cornerback Kyler Gordon was ruled out of the game after injuring his groin again. Gordon had hurt it during pregame warm-ups before kickoff.

It has been more of the same for Gordon as he just returned in the Philadelphia Eagles game in Week 13 after being on IR for over two months. C.J. Gardner-Johnson replaced him.

Bears facing another massive injury on defense

This is just another injury the Bears' defense has been dealing with all season. Tremaine Edmunds and Dayo Odeyingbo are currently on IR after their injuries. Jaylon Johnson joined Gordon in missing most of the season due to injury, and the Bears just got back T.J. Edwards and Noah Sewell after missing time with injuries. Not to mention, Chicago already doesn't have Tyrique Stevenson for the second straight game with his injury.

The mantra this season for the Bears has been next man up, and they have certainly gotten their fair share of great performances from backups. Nahshon Wright replaced Jaylon Johnson in the starting lineup for most of the season, and that has resulted in five interceptions this season.

Chicago brought in Gardner-Johnson to help out in the slot in October after Gordon's injury. He's been great since replacing Gordon and learning to play a whole new position from safety to the slot. Gardner-Johnson has gotten three sacks on the season.

The Bears are once again facing adversity on defense with multiple injuries, but after creating 26 turnovers this season to lead the NFL, they are showing their resilience.
