To no one's surprise, the biggest name on the Chicago Bears' inactive list for Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles is quarterback Caleb Williams.

It was expected, as Williams will most likely miss about three to four weeks with his hamstring injury. He is currently projected to return around the Atlanta Falcons game if things go according to plan, with an outside shot at the Green Bay Packers contest.

Here is the full list of the inactives for the Bears entering their Week 3 Eagles game:

  • Caleb Williams, QB
  • Jamree Kromah, DL
  • Jordan McFadden, OL
  • Ozzy Trapilo, OL
  • Jayden Loving, DL

Bears announce Week 3 inactives with Caleb Williams being ruled out officially

It's not the best news for Bears fans, but it was expected. Williams will miss his first career NFL game after starting his first 36 regular-season games and two playoff games.

That means Case Keenum will start the Week 3 game after spending last week as the third stringer. The usual backup, Tyson Bagent, was the backup for the last two seasons, but he came out of the concussion protocol after he came back two seasons ago; the Bears decided to stick with Keenum instead of changing the game plan.

As for the other news updates from the inactive list, there isn't much different from the previous weeks. The quarterbacks are the biggest thing on there.

Trapilo is still waiting to make his 2026 debut with the Bears. Braxton Jones and Theo Benedet will handle the left tackle position for the game once again.

This was the first week that Trapilo was practicing in full pads, but Bears head coach Ben Johnson made it clear that Trapilo won't be playing yet. While Trapilo is making good progress, he may still be a few weeks away from stepping on the field on game day.

Bears fans now know how the lineup will look for the Eagles game and are hoping for the best. This is a big game for them; sitting at 1-1, they need a win to gain ground on the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North.

Philly presents plenty of challenges for the Bears, but this team has enough talent that, without Williams, they can still do plenty of damage. They need to hope Keenum still has some magic in that right arm, maybe one last time.
