Chicago Bears fans are trying to enjoy the ride after their Week 3 31-14 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

That impressive performance showed the true potential of the Bears, as it was a total team win. Chicago's offense nearly totaled 400 yards, and the defense forced four turnovers. No one could have asked for a better performance after losing the first two games of the regular season.

Chicago's epic rise is starting to be noticed by everyone, including Lou Scataglia of NFL Spin Zone, who released his latest Week 4 NFL power rankings. Scataglia moved the Bears up from 28th to 19th after displaying their dominance.

"Caleb Williams threw for four touchdowns and nearly 300 yards in a breakout party for the Chicago Bears in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys, and for a short time, the chatter might stop regarding the Bears and if they are going to be a dysfunctional mess.

The Bears have a fierce fanbase, but as long as they can stack some wins, everything will be OK for a short time. Chicago rises in our NFL power rankings and might begin to put things together if what we saw in Week 3 is actually the real deal."

Bears still have much to prove despite Week 3 victory

It's easy to get carried away with how great the Bears looked. Williams looked like the franchise quarterback Bears fans have been waiting for, and the defense managed to fight through their injuries by allowing just 14 points.

Where everyone needs to see if the Bears are the real deal is by doing it on a consistent basis. Chicago has two very good teams, the Vikings and Lions, in the first two weeks, and couldn't pull out wins. The Bears seemed to have struggled in those game, and when they faced a team who isn't as good, they beat up on them.

Chicago has to be able to beat the good teams in order to get everyone on board. Last year, they faced similar issues, finishing 1-5 in the NFC North, which featured all three of their division rivals making the playoffs.

The Bears are facing a Raiders team in Week 4 that is in a similar situation of needing to prove themselves, so the expected outcome should be a win for Chicago. Anything less than that and they could find themselves back near the bottom of the rankings.
