Ben Johnson couldn't stop gushing over position group that once failed the Bears

They have been solid this season.

The Chicago Bears' offense has looked dramatically different in 2025 compared to the mess it was in last year, but there is one specific reason for that.

Everyone has noticed the job the offensive line has done this season in run blocking and protecting quarterback Caleb Williams in the pocket. It's something Bears head coach Ben Johnson has made sure not to overlook when discussing the success of the offense.

"I have a lot of confidence in our O-Line right now. Really clean pockets throughout. Tight ends are a big part of our protection scheme. There is no mistaking what Caleb can do. He feels it. The way he evades I think it is second to none."

Bears' offensive line is reaching heights they haven't been to in years

The Bears' offensive line's performance in the win against the New York Giants in Week 10 was one of the best of the season for the unit. Chicago ran for 171 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 6.1 yards per carry. Williams experienced something he rarely gets to during his NFL career: zero sacks.

Praise has been given to the performances of players like Joe Thuney, Jonah Jackson, and Darnell Wright for their impressive appearances. Wright, in particular, is receiving a significant amount of attention, with many believing he could be well on his way to a Pro Bowl selection. Pro Football Focus has graded him as the 13th-best offensive tackle in the NFL, with a 79.2 grade. Thuney (11th) and Jackson (17th) are also in the top 20 at their positions for PFF.

One other shoutout is due to center Drew Dalman, who had a bad game against the New Orleans Saints with multiple bad snaps, but has overall had a wonderful season. Dalman has the third-best PFF grade among centers with an 81.5 grade.

A year ago, Bears fans couldn't stop complaining about the offensive line and how bad they were. It appears that general manager Ryan Poles has hit some home runs with his signings and trades for offensive linemen in the offseason.
