Ben Johnson delivered a typical parent-to-child quote after Bears lost to Ravens

He's not mad, just disappointed.

There's no doubt that not one single Chicago Bears player or coach felt particularly good about how they played after their 30-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8.

The Bears' defense made Ravens backup quarterback Tyler Huntley look like a seasoned pro with 239 total yards and a touchdown in the game. Derrick Henry ran for a tough 71 yards and two touchdowns against the Bears.

That same physicalness the Bears' offensive line showed in the previous two games with the running game wasn't quite there as the team ran for 96 yards. Chicago's defensive line wasn't much better, allowing 177 yards on the ground as Baltimore averaged 5.1 yards per carry.

After the game, Bears head coach Ben Johnson pointed that out to the media as something he was not exactly thrilled about.

“They played a physical brand of football. They were hungry, they were determined. Truth be told, I expected a little bit more out of our squad.”

Bears got beat up front in the worst way

That last part of the quote from Johnson is something kids have been hearing from their parents for centuries whenever they make a mistake. This time around, though, Johnson is not only disappointed, he's mad about it.

The one aspect of the Bears over the last four games during the winning streak is how physical the team has been despite the injuries piling up. They always took the fight to the other team, but against Baltimore, they seemed to fold during the fourth quarter and lost all that momentum.

It also didn't help that Caleb Williams had two intentional grounding penalties and 11 total penalties for 79 yards. The Williams interception in the fourth quarter was soul-crushing for the Bears and the first sign that Chicago would not win the game.

Chicago has the whole week to clean things up and prepare for a Cincinnati Bengals team that's coming off a devastating one-point loss to the previously winless New York Jets. There's no telling what will happen if the Bears lose that game.
