That was tough for sure.

The dream of a four-game winning streak quickly turned into a nightmare for the Chicago Bears, who fell to the Baltimore Ravens 30-16 in Week 8.

There are plenty of fingers to point at with the Bears about why they lost this game—starting with the 11 penalties for 79 yards, which made it impossible to get any momentum going. The rushing attack took a significant step back with 96 yards after back-to-back games with at least 140 yards.

Ultimately, the one common denominator in the offense over the last three games is this: they aren't scoring enough touchdowns. Against the Washington Commanders, they settled for five field goal attempts. Last week, in the win over the New Orleans Saints, it was four field goals. Against the Ravens, it was four field goal attempts.

All potential touchdown drives ended with field goals. Something has to give with the Bears' offense.

Bears failing to get touchdowns is hurting the team

Quarterback Caleb Williams spoke to the media after the game to share the lesson his team learned the hard way. Simply put, Williams knows they have to score six, not three.

“We just gotta find a way to get into the end zone. We gotta find the way to stop the bleeding. I think I can do a better job with that”

Chicago's offense isn't just about getting it done in the red zone. The Bears had three trips to the red zone, and they ended with one touchdown, one field goal, and stood up at the one-yard line at the end of the game.

This has become a recurring problem for the Bears as Williams has now gone two consecutive games without scoring a single touchdown. It's mostly either been a D'Andre Swift touchdown or field goals. Kicker Cairo Santos nailed three of his four field goal attempts.

It's a frustrating feeling across the offense that must be addressed before they face the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9.
