It's easy to argue that the hiring of Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson might be one of the most exciting coaching moves the franchise has made. Everyone seems to be bought in.

The Athletic's Jacob Robinson and Torrey Hart shared their list of the 2025 offseason all-hype team, with Johnson included. His innovative offensive mind and his recent success with the Detroit Lions made it an easy choice to include him on the list that has everyone excited.

"The vibes are great in Chicago, where it’s been Johnson’s show since the former Lions OC agreed to join the Bears on a contract reportedly worth $13 million per year. With his offense slowly making strides and his staff — which includes former Saints head coach Dennis Allen as defensive coordinator — continuing to win over the players and fan base, is this the most optimistic Bears fans have felt since … last preseason?"

Johnson has the full support of everyone in Chicago

Chicago's offseason got off to an awesome start and never slowed down with Johnson leading the charge. From bringing in three new starting offensive linemen to selecting four impactful players in the NFL Draft within the first two rounds, the Bears were rolling with big moves being made.

Training camp might have tampered with that excitement just a bit with a rough start to the first week. Quarterback Caleb Williams and the offense struggled to get in sync with Johnson's system, with pre-snap issues and inaccuracies. Momentum is starting to build at the end of the second week, with receivers like DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, and rookie Luther Burden III beginning to stand out.

Johnson has made numerous changes to the Bears' roster, but the most significant move has been the cultural shift. He's not afraid to get into the face of his quarterback or kick an entire unit off the field if they aren't doing their jobs. Mediocrity is no longer acceptable in Chicago, as winning must become a priority.

Back with the Detroit Lions, Johnson only knew how to win and be the best. His offensive units consistently ranked in the top five in scoring and yards during each of his three seasons as the offensive coordinator. He has no intention of taking a step back, even with a brand-new team.
