He just keeps proving it.

Since Day 1, Chicago Bears fans have heard a whole lot of different vibes from first-year head coach Ben Johnson. It didn't take long for the fan base to realize things were going to be much, much different.

Now that the Bears are several games into the season, Johnson just continues to give us reasons to believe he has completely changed how this team does things. During his media time this week, Johnson was asked about the fiery language he used during the game, through the headset, and to fellow players and coaches.

Johnson commented on the fact that he is "tough to deal with" on the headset during the game.

"Each time we hit the field I expect to score a touchdown and if we don't I get a little disappointed," he said.

Ben Johnson keeps proving he's the real deal, and Bears fans can't get enough

This might fall under the "broken record" category, but every time Johnson says something completely different from past head coaches, it's noteworthy for this fan base. Believe me, he is far from what the Bears are used to, and fans understand that.

Johnson's intensity and standards are significantly higher than those of Matt Eberflus, Matt Nagy, John Fox, or Marc Trestman. Shoot, his intensity level is even higher than Lovie Smith -- but that doesn't take much.

He is truly unlike any coach this fan base has ever seen. But, he's saying exactly what fans feel throughout the game.

What's wrong with having the mentality of "we should score a touchdown on every drive?"

After all, we are talking about the NFL's no. 3 overall offense in terms of yards per game and the no. 6 scoring offense, for that matter. These are not your father's Bears. These guys are a different breed.

It may have taken some time, but we are really seeing the Ben Johnson effect on this offense. And, funny enough, fans would agree that the offense is anything but consistent. This is a far cry from Johnson's offense in Detroit, yet here they are, sitting inside the top 10 of major metrics.

It's a wild reality that we're living in, but it's all due to the standard Johnson has yet to meet. Many coaches enter the job saying all the right things. Bears fans have been fooled time and time again after an opening presser.
