With just a couple of days until the Chicago Bears take the field against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12, many fans from the Windy City are wondering if their star cornerback, Jaylon Johnson, will be coming back to the field for the first time in two months.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson spoke with the media for the final time before the game, and let's say he didn't exactly give the answer fans were hoping for. Ben Johnson was asked about Jaylon Johnson's playing status for the game, and the coach needed only five words to answer.
“I don’t know. We’ll see.”
Bears fans are left playing the waiting game once again
Jaylon Johnson has not been on the field since the Bears' Week 2 blowout loss to the Detroit Lions, where he left the game in the second quarter with a lower leg injury. Johnson had a core muscle procedure done, as he has been dealing with a groin injury dating back to training camp. He missed all of camp and Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings with the injury.
Chicago has struggled in the secondary not only to replace Johnson but also to deal with cornerback Kyler Gordon missing all but two games during the season due to injury. Over the last week, Johnson and Gordon had each of their 21-day practice windows opened and could be back by next month.
This week, at their first two practices, Johnson and Gordon were limited in the first practice. Johnson was a full participant for the second workout while Gordon remained limited.

Ben Johnson mentioned he will be cautious about how the Bears are handling injuries on the team. That usually indicates that the team might wait it out a bit with Jaylon Johnson and Gordon to make sure they are 100% before putting them back on the field.
