There was no better turnaround of an offense in the NFL than the Chicago Bears after the disaster of 2024, and turning it into an incredible 2025 campaign.

In that horrendous 2024 season, the Bears were ranked last in total offense with 284.6 yards per game. That completely turned around this past season, as they finished sixth in total offense at 369.2 yards per game.

A big reason for that was the offensive genius that is Bears head coach Ben Johnson, who rebuilt the offensive line, added younger talent at the skill positions for quarterback Caleb Williams, and turned them into an elite unit. Johnson spoke about the offense's untapped potential and what people can expect from them going into 2026, sending a clear warning.

"We haven't even scratched the surface of what we're fully capable of yet," Johnson said via The Athletic's Kevin Fishbain.

Chicago Bears' offense is only going to get better and that's a scary thought

That new offensive line is the main catalyst for all the problems the 2024 team had in Chicago. With four new starters, they went from allowing 68 sacks in 2024 to just 24 in 2025. They also helped spark the running game, which ranked in the bottom 10 in 2024, but they finished third in the NFL with 144.5 rushing yards per game in 2025.

Speaking of that running game, D'Andre Swift had the best season of his career in 2025 after averaging below four yards per carry in 2024 as Swift went for 1,087 yards and nine touchdowns this season with an average yards per carry of 4.9. The surprise of the year was rookie seventh-round pick Kyle Monangai, who finished with 783 yards and five touchdowns on the season.

In the passing game, Williams was generous as everyone got to eat with four players going over 600 receiving yards on the year, led by rookie first-round pick tight end Colston Loveland with 713 yards and six touchdowns. DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, and rookie second-round pick Luther Burden III all had over 600 yards on the season, with Moore and Odunze each catching six touchdowns.

There's, of course, Williams, who broke a franchise record with 3,942 yards and had 27 touchdowns to just seven interceptions, adding another 388 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. His most impressive stat is that he led an NFL-record seven comebacks and game-winning drives during the regular season and playoffs combined.
