The Chicago Bears are going to have plenty of position battles going on over the next few months before the 2026 season begins, but what's happening on the offensive line has everyone's attention.
There are two big position battles happening, with the first being at left tackle between Braxton Jones, Theo Benedet, and Jedrick Wills Jr. The other one is at center, where that's between Logan Jones and Garrett Bradbury. Bears head coach Ben Johnson spoke to the media about the offensive line at OTAs so far, with a special shoutout to a player in the position group.
"I think we got a couple of the best offensive line coaches in the business," Johnson said via CHGO. "Garrett Bradbury impressed on day one. He was loud."
Ben Johnson gives a special shoutout to Garrett Bradbury
Bradbury was traded to the Bears just a few days after Drew Dalman stunned the franchise with his retirement announcement to them. He is seen as the short-term solution at center for the 2026 season as he has one year remaining on his contract.
Logan Jones was selected in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, where he is expected to be the future starter at center. He will most likely sit behind Bradbury for the year before taking over the job.
There is the possibility that Jones ends up winning the job in 2026, as there was a lot of high praise from draft experts about him coming out of the draft. His 4.9-second 40-yard dash time caught the attention of everyone as he was the fastest lineman in the class.
Bradbury has a lot going for him in 2026, as his experience helps; he's been a longtime starter for the Minnesota Vikings and the Patriots. Second, he was a former teammate of left guard Joe Thuney, so there is already chemistry between them that will be vital as the team rolls into the preseason.

Johnson seems to have given the advantage to Bradbury early on at the center position. It's only been one week, though, so a lot can change between now and Week 1 of the NFL season.
