Chicago Bears fans were stunned when they first heard that Drew Dalman was retiring, which made it clear that the team needs to find his replacement.
For the time being, Garrett Bradbury is going to hold down the job for 2026 after being traded to Chicago from the New England Patriots. The Bears have their center for 2027 and beyond, as they selected Logan Jones with the 57th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Jones killed it in the NFL Combine as the fastest offensive lineman there with a 4.9-second 40-yard dash. Last year, he was the Rimington Trophy winner as the nation's best center, not allowing a single sack.
Bears select Logan Jones with the 57th overall pick in the draft
Bradbury should be good to hold the center job for the 2026 season, but he only has one more year on his contract. Jones makes sense to bring in and sit behind Bradbury for one year and learn how to be a center in the NFL.
The Bears have had a lot of questions at the offensive line, with center and left tackle being the biggest. Jones will at least solve one of those problems as he is an athletic center who can move well and is great on pulls with outside runs.
Chicago shouldn't be done with the offensive line, as they can still make a move for left tackle and build some depth. Bears general manager Ryan Poles has made it clear with this pick that he wants to win up front after the success of the offensive line last year, so Jones gives them stability for the future.

It may take a year to see if the Jones pick works, but it appears to be good so far.
