While there might be some buzz around Chicago Bears wide receivers Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III in 2026, the Caleb Williams-Colston Loveland connection just looks perfect.

Last year, that Williams-Loveland connection really started to take shape against the Cincinnati Bengals when Loveland went for over 100 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown with less than a minute to go. The Bears won that slugfest 47-42 in one of the highest-scoring games of the NFL season.

Chicago and Cincinnati got to meet each other again after playing each other less than a year ago for a joint practice. The Bengals' defense is going to have nightmares after watching Williams and Loveland connect with each other again.

During the practice, Williams connected with Loveland on an incredible completion. Williams was running a play-action fake and was able to deliver a perfect pass with a hand in his face. Loveland jumped up and made the catch over the Bengals defender.

Last year, Loveland had a great rookie season with the Bears, catching 58 passes for 713 yards and six touchdowns. He led the Bears in receptions and yards and tied for the lead in touchdowns. Williams targeted Loveland more than 10 times in each of the last four games of the regular season and postseason.

This is the connection that everyone in Chicago trusts to be great more than any other on the offense. Williams has a clear trust in Loveland and is willing to feed him the ball early and often.

Burden has been injured and out of training camp, and Zavion Thomas just came back from injury. Williams is still working through who his number one receiver is after rotating through targets.

Odunze is still expected to be the number one guy, but Loveland is going to challenge him for that spot. Loveland might be the more reliable guy since he was healthier in 2025 and has made all the catches thrown his way. Anything less than that would be a surprise.

The NFL better watch for Loveland and Williams to have a breakout season together in 2026. They are looking more and more like the future connection that is going to dominate the NFL for a very long time.
