The Chicago Bears have taken home the NFC North title in the 2025 season, which has free agents from around the league like New York Jets running back Breece Hall wishing they could join up with Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson.

Hall is still a very productive running back, but after four seasons of failing to even sniff the playoffs, he might be looking to trade that green helmet in for one that could help him compete in the playoffs.

While the Bears have one of the best offenses in the league, the running game consists of a veteran who could be replaced in D'Andre Swift and a seventh-round rookie in Kyle Monangai who may find it difficult to consistently replicate his standout performance.

Hall remarked at just how easy both the Bears and San Francisco 49ers were making it look to score points on Sunday Night Football. This tweet came on the heels of yet another pathetic Jets loss in Week 17, which may get some Bears fans imagining what this offense could look like with Hall in the mix.

Hall became the first Jets running back since Chris Ivory to run for 1,000 yards in a season. He achieved this while showing tremendous upside as a receiver on a team that has perhaps the worst quarterback room in the NFL, putting even more pressure on him.

The Bears won't be close to the Jeremiyah Love sweepstakes, and there's a good chance that no backs will be selected on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Why bargain bin shop with names like Notre Dame's Jadarian Price or Washington's Jonah Coleman when you can swing for the fences with Hall?

However, Bears fans need to accept the fact that Hall returning to the Jets is still more likely than him coming to Chicago. The Jets not only will try to retain their best skill-position player as they prepare to add a rookie quarterback, but they also have the ability to transition tag Hall to ensure his return.

If Hall's desire to play on a winning team is strong enough to the point where he pitches a fit, the Jets may decide to reboot at running back. With Williams on his rookie contract, Ryan Poles might decide to give Chicago its best back in years by adding Hall to the mix.
