With the NFL offseason officially underway, it’s safe to say most Chicago Bears fans have the same thing atop their offseason wishlist: a trade for Maxx Crosby.
The Las Vegas Raiders defensive end has already been the talk of the offseason, with multiple reports about his future, or lack thereof, in Vegas. For now, everything is speculation, but Bears fans are wishing hard.
That's especially the case after Chicago’s quarterback Caleb Williams appeared on a recent episode of Crosby’s The Rush Podcast. Williams sat down for an hour-long in-person interview with Crosby and his co-host, diving into a ton of topics. While the conversation was great, the mere sight of both guys together, chopping it up, is enough to fuel Bears’ fans' excitement about a potential move.
Bears fans can only think about a trade after Caleb Williams appears on Maxx Crosby’s podcast
Williams and Crosby are admitted fans of each other, and they shared a nice moment after the Bears defeated the Raiders this past season. Just like this podcast episode, the embrace that the two shared had Chicago’s fans envisioning Crosby in a Bears jersey.
The Bears had a magical season in 2025, winning 11 games and being one play away from the NFC Championship, but their defense was a problem area. Chicago did a good job taking the ball away, but the unit needs to improve in every other area. Like everything in football, it starts up front: stopping the run and getting after the quarterback.
Maxx Crosby is among the best in the NFL at doing those things. In his seven-year career, he has made five Pro Bowls, all in the last five seasons. That includes this past season, when he recorded 10 sacks, 28 tackles for a loss, and 73 total tackles. Adding that production to a Bears defense would be a game-changer.

The veteran defender is under contract for four more years, so trading for Crosby would be a significant investment by Chicago. It would certainly be a worthwhile investment, though, as acquiring the star defender would move the Bears closer to a Super Bowl. If the Raiders officially open for business on a Crosby trade, Chicago needs to get a deal done.
