The moment that the magical 2025 season ended on a game-winning field goal by the Los Angeles Rams, Chicago Bears fans, while heartbroken, were ready for the 2026 season to kick off as soon as possible.

It felt more like a fever dream with the Bears going 11-6, winning the NFC North, and storming back from being down 18 points to beat the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card. Bears fans couldn't have asked for a better season, with expectations being so low with a 0-2 start to the season.

While talking on "The Rush With Maxx Crosby," Bears quarterback Caleb Williams told Crosby what his preparation was for the offseason. Williams was honest about being over the offseason and wanting to get ready for the 2026 campaign.

"I'm actually itching to get back to be honest. I'm fighting myself right now because I do know that rest and getting away is extremely important. I'm fighting the urge right now. The fire is burning. I'm excited to get back."

Caleb Williams is ready for the 2026 season

It's easy to see why Williams is so excited to get back on the field after the kind of season he had. He broke the franchise record for passing yards in a season with 3,942 and added 30 touchdowns with just seven interceptions in 17 games.

The Bears have a lot of momentum entering the 2026 season and don't want anything to ruin it. They first have to figure out their roster for the new year, though, as Chicago has key free agents about to be available with Kevin Byard, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Jaquan Brisker, Nahshon Wright, D'Marco Jackson, and Braxton Jones, just to name a few.

One thing is certain, and that's the offense is loaded with four of the five starters on the offensive line back after allowing just 24 sacks in 2025; a massive improvement from the 68 allowed in 2024. The skill players are loaded with DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Luther Burden, Colston Loveland, Cole Kmet, D'Andre Swift, and Kyle Monangai, all still under contract.

There really is nothing slowing this team down except the Bears themselves, as they have all the pieces in place to make a Super Bowl run if they want it bad enough.
