The Chicago Bears haven't had too many changes to the coaching staff, but it has been enough that head coach Ben Johnson had some work to do for the group.
Four major changes to the staff have been announced, including new hires and promotions within the coaching staff. Here are the moves that were made for the Bears entering the 2026 season:
- Press Taylor promoted to offensive coordinator
- Eric Studesville hired as running backs coach
- Will Lawing hired as offensive analyst
- Isaiah Ford hired as offensive quality control coach
Bears announce four changes to coaching staff
Taylor was the pass game coordinator for the Bears last year, and Johnson conducted a small, reported search for an offensive coordinator, but it was clear early on that Taylor was going to be one of the top candidates for the job. Before Chicago, Taylor was the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Studesville was a running backs coach for the Miami Dolphins and the Denver Broncos over the past decade-plus. He was previously on the Bears' coaching staff from 1997 through 2000 as the offensive quality control coach.
Lawing spent the last two seasons as Boston College's offensive coordinator and was among the first reported hires this offseason. He was also a tight ends coach for the New England Patriots in 2023.
Ford is a new hire by the Bears, and this appears to be his first coaching job. He was a longtime NFL wide receiver who played for four teams, including the Chicago Bears.

While the Bears' coaching staff has not yet been finalized, this is a significant step toward getting the team to the point of being almost done, but more work remains.
